Location: Burton-on-Trent | Salary: £55-65K + package.
Working for an international technology business, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the provision of business services across the business, its people and properties. Acting under the direction and with the delegated authority of the Office of the Executive Chairman, this role is primarily responsible for Company Health, Safety and Environment Policy, its insurance portfolio, properties and facilities and the travel and expenses processes and policies across the UK and internationally.
The successful candidate will have proven management experience in a fast-moving business, backed by relevant training and ongoing professional development. Previous involvement in health and safety management, business insurance and/or commercial property would be advantageous. The ability to work under pressure and the desire to find solutions to business challenges are key attributes.
You will be responsible for managing a small team based across various locations and will travel regularly across the UK and occasionally overseas.
Health, Safety & Environment Management – the provision and maintenance of a Health, Safety and Environment Policy that reflects current legislation and regulations. Key elements include the chairing of the Group Health & Safety Committee, attendance at local H&S meetings across the Company and working closely with H&S consultants for the provision of annual risk assessment audits and other associated formal documents.
Insurance Management – to understand the global business risks and to work with brokers and insurance underwriters to provide a comprehensive portfolio of cover, renewed annually and amended as required in line with changing business conditions. To manage and administer all insurance claims to achieve the most reasonable and cost-effective result for the Company, whilst protecting its best interests. To highlight any specific risks to the Company’s senior management.
Property Management – with senior management, identify suitable business locations and negotiate cost-effective property leases on best terms in the UK and internationally and to build strong relationships with agents, landlords and other property professionals as necessary. To manage key property elements, including dilapidations, break options, renewals and service charge provisions.
Facilities Management – using the internal Facilities Support team to effectively manage all repairs, maintenance and office facility projects within agreed budgets to provide good working environments for colleagues. To use 3rd party contractors as and when required, including when specific skill-sets and expertise are required.
Travel and Expense Management – identify suitable external partners and negotiate contracts on best terms for the provision of company global travel and expense management services. To design and maintain Travel and Expense policies for each territory that reflects the structure, tax requirements and local legislation. Work with the Business Services Administrator to provide regular internal audits of expense submissions.
